AEROMODELLING
Multiscan offers a wide range of services related to dimensional activities and reverse engineering in the field of aeromodelling.
Some of the services the company can offer in this field are: inspection and certification of products and components, inspection of engine and flight components, production assistance for assembly and testing.
3D scanning
Thanks to the use of laser scanners, we are able to scan the surfaces of the aircraft with an accuracy of 0.02mm with particular attention to detail, the first result of the scan is then refined for later use. The output of the scan are point clouds or meshes complete with colours, aligned with each other and subsequently necessary for the realisation of a complete and faithful 3D.

Take a look
In this video, Multiscan team wants to show the potential of the Faro focus laser scanner used to survey an Italian Air Force base. As you can see the 3D scan shows some of the most famous warplanes used around the world such as the Panavia tornado or AMX, you can also see older aircraft such as the Fiat G91 used both as a trainer and a fighter-bomber or the very famous North American T6 used by the USAF and RAF for pilot training during WW2.
The result you can see is the point cloud created on a 3D scanning day at the air base, from it you can obtain geometries for accurate three-dimensional models of each aircraft for heritage digitization purposes or for other uses such as replication of components or scale replicas.
Reverse Engineering
On the basis of the extracted point clouds, the file is subsequently converted into meshes. By working on them, the Multiscan team will create a three-dimensional model faithful to the scanned aircraft or component, thus enabling subsequent dimensional verification or replica of the part.

FEM analisys
Components subject to particular stresses can be structurally verified with our FEM analysis software in order to check their structural integrity under stress conditions.
In addition to the verification, we can also take care of the optimisation of material distribution, in order to relieve the less stressed areas.
Engineerization
Thanks to the engineering skills of our team, we are able to take care of the design of your next model, a structural verification and optimisation can be carried out after the reverse engineering phase.
Thanks to this process, your final product will not only conform geometrically to the original aircraft but will also be optimised to be lightweight and structurally verified.
Projects
Take a look at the projects we have carried out in this area, you will find Metrology services, 3D scanning, Reverse Engineering, Structural Calculations, etc.
Instruments
Take a look at the instruments recommended for this sector. The wide range of instruments available will meet all your needs, with an accuracy starting from a hundredth of a millimetre and a maximum range of 50 metres .
